Do you want me to buy anything?
The huge Eaton Centre is located at the north of the Central Business District. With its own subway station, this modern shopping complex extends over several blocks and is continually being renovated and enlarged.
It has a lot of department stores, specialty shops, boutiques, restaurants, cafeterias, and snack bars. The original Eaton department store opened in Toronto in 1869.
At the end of the session, you will have:
- read and answered some questions about the Eaton Centre using its official website.
- learnt the use of 'had better' in English.
- designed the final version of your digital presentation with the use of the Genial.ly website.
Visit the Eaton Centre official website and try to find the answer to these questions:
- Which subway stations stop at Eaton Centre? (To find out, visit the "Hours & Directions" section).
- Is Eaton Centre open everyday? Which day does it close the earliest? (To find out, visit the "Visitor Information" section).
- How long are objects kept at the 'lost & found' office for? (To find out, visit the "Visitor Information" section).
You have to answer these questions in your learning diary.
Remember that Eaton Centre must be a part of the route at your Google Sites map. You can also take a look at its YouTube channel.
Continue with your posts on Twitter (#taskadvice and #EDIAtoronto). Send a tweet to Eaton Centre Twitter telling them that you have visited the centre virtually and with the name of the shop you are most interested in. You can also tweet the answer to the previous questions adding the link of your post from your learning diary. The 'Rubric to assess a Tweet' can help you do a good job in this social network.
