Let's go to Toronto zoo today!
Toronto's enormous zoo, with its collection of several thousand animals, is next to the Red River some 40 kilometers away from the city centre. One of the most famous attractions is the panda exhibition, which opened in 2013.
The zoo is divided in different sections, each representing a major region of Earth. The North American section is unique with the grizzly bear space, vast bison park, and impressive polarium. Some other important places to be visited are the African Savanna and Great Barrier Reef.
At the end of the session, you will have:
- visited Toronto Zoo.
- known the difference in pronunciation between /a:/ - /Λ/
- drawn the route of different landmarks at the Toronto google map.
Visit its official website and take a look at all the information it contains. After that, answer the following questions:
- How large is the zoo? Do you know what an acre is ? (Visit Facts & Figures section)
- If your whole class went to the zoo in summer, how much would you have to pay? And in winter? (Visit Tickets section)
- If you wanted to become a zookeeper, what would you have to study at college? (Visit Jobs and Careers section)
Answer these questions in your learning diary. The title of the post has to be: "Let's go to Toronto zoo today".
After the visit, continue with your posts on Twitter (#taskadvice and #EDIAtoronto). Do you think that this zoo is an interesting place to be visited? Would you recommend it to your friends and relatives? Send a tweet with the Project hashtag with the area you have liked the most from the zoo website. The 'Rubric to assess a Tweet' can help you do a good job in this social network.
Remember that Toronto Zoo must be part of the route at your Google Sites map.
